Rock Cod Fishing Charter Report - Fishing is Solid

On this 4-hour San Diego Fishing Charter, we left the jetty’s and we went about 5 miles north to La Jolla. We tried many shallow water spots and fishing was slow at first, but then decided to try deeper for some rock cod. 


Today, we were bottom fishing using live sardines and juicy swim baits. Rock cod candy. Due to the calm conditions we were able to use light weight to stay down at the bottom. 


We caught many large size rock cod and a stand out trophy lingcod!


Wyatt’s goal was to catch a lingcod and towards the end of the trip he landed a monster 20 pounder. He was so pumped and it made his week! This kid can fish and he’s only 8! Congrats on the great catch Wyatt!
