June Fishing Report from Fish Further Charters in San Diego
We headed straight for the shallow water just off the coast of La Jolla, San Diego, California, which is only 5 miles from the Mission Bay jettys. It’s pretty nice having only a 10-minute ride to the hot fishing zone. The target today was White Sea Bass. We had gotten some reports from a few friends that the bite had begun, and they weren't wrong!

We grabbed a fresh scoop of live Sardines and headed to the zone. We also caught some mackerel to have for additional bait and something different. We wanted to throw everything at them to see what they wanted most.
We were fishing the sardines on dropper loop rigs and flyline bait rigs and also casting artificial fluke rig swim baits. Everything got bites, but the live sardine was the hot bait.
Lately, White Sea Bass fishing close to home has been extremely effective. We have been catching numerous fish on every charter trip we have been on. On this trip, we caught 12 and kept 3 with 3 passengers because there is a one per person limit right now until June 15.
At a few points in time, the whole boat was fighting fish with 3 rods bent and all the hooting and hollering you could imagine. What a great trip. It’s extremely rare for us to catch this many White Sea Bass so close to home, so often. This bite has been going on for over a week now, and it’s very likely it’s going to continue, so now is the perfect time to get out on a coastal San Diego fishing charter.
